2026 Measureable Goals
2026 Measureable Goals
The Big Idea
I can't do everything well at the same time. 2026 will be about choosing fewer things and doing them with intention. This plan exists so I can commit without feeling overwhelmed.
1. Revenue & Business — Year of Distribution
What this means: Build and grow a profitable business that earns real money and gives our family flexibility.
Success looks like:
- $5,000 MRR by Dec 31, 2026
- Paying customers
- Progress driven by distribution, not just building
- 10 outbound messages per week (avg) H2
This business should reduce pressure, not add chaos.
2. Writing, Thinking, and Communication
What this means: Use writing as a tool for clarity, leverage, and better communication.
Success looks like:
- 24 published pieces in 2026
- One focused writing block about every two weeks
- Writing that helps me think clearly and communicate better at home, work, and church
This also supports better storytelling and inspiring others through words and actions.
3. Family — The Year of 3
Family is the center of the year.
Marriage
What this means: Be intentional with Abbey and protect time for us.
Success looks like:
- 6 meaningful date nights or getaways
- Planned ahead of time
- Time to talk, not just do activities
Kids
What this means: Create memories and teach values through shared experiences.
Success looks like:
- 6 "core memory" experiences
- Photos and short reflections captured
- More video from everyday moments and bigger trips
Trips
- Disneyland (February)
- Hawaii
- New York (November)
4. Health & Fitness
What this means: Take care of my body so I have energy for everything else.
Success looks like:
- Regular lifting and running
- At least one cardio-focused session per week
- Eating whole foods that tastes good
- Feeling strong, looking good, and having steady energy
5. Basement (Finish H1)
What this means: Finish the basement so it becomes a place to relax, watch movies, and be together as a family.
Success looks like:
- Basement finished by June 30, 2026
- No unnecessary upgrades
- A space we actually use
6. Cost of Living
What this means: Keep expenses controlled so money creates freedom, not stress.
Success looks like:
- Average monthly spend ≤ $4,000
- Thoughtful tradeoffs instead of impulse spending
- Reviewed monthly spend
7. Self-Improvement
What this means: Create space to grow, reflect, and be more myself.
Success looks like:
- Go to therapy at least once
- Attend one Tony Robbins / self-help style event
- Take a Think Week alone (Sept 3–4 dates TDB)
- Leave with a written plan and clarity
8. Gratitude & Faith
What this means: Start my days grounded and grateful.
Success looks like:
- Morning prayer in the office or basement gym
- Living with gratitude instead of urgency
9. Teaching & Traditions
What this means: Teach my kids through repetition, example, and shared experiences.
Things I want to teach:
- Curiosity
- Hard work
- Love
- Honesty
- Faith in Jesus Christ
Traditions to continue:
- 4th of July hike
- Utah summer camping
- Dinner discussions
- Winter skiing
