Slack-native AI updates for engineering teams. Daily curated signal so teams stay ahead without the noise.
Built: Slack app with curated AI updates, Python/FastAPI backend, and landing page. Started over Christmas break (see building-newzlio post).
Learned: Distribution via Slack installs with 8 workspaces installed. Still early: a few actual users, no validation yet on willingness to pay.
Outcome: 8 Slack workspaces installed, early stage.
Siftbooks
Audiobook content filtering. Listen to your favorite books without the bad parts.
Built: An app for streaming audiobooks for Audible users with Predictive Models for explicit content.
Learned: Solving problems for real people doesn't mean your business will suceed.
Outcome: 300 active monthly users
Toilet Targets
Dissolvable targets that make potty training fun and mess-free.
Built: Paper targets that dissolve in the toilet, designed to make potty training more engaging for kids.
Learned: Product development, manual manufacturing, Amazon FBA, importance of patents, family business operations.
Outcome: Helped thousands of families with potty training.
Moms Morning Memo
A daily email with activities for moms with kids.
Built: A branded newsletter built on Beehiiv platform.
Learned: Newsletter metrics, monetization, unit economics, content strategy.
Outcome: Delivered daily emails to 2.5k subscribers
Baby Changing Pads
A soft fabric liner used for changing babies diapers.
Built: The first proto type was built with an old t-shirt and my neighbors Keekaroo. Took my requirements to a manufacturer in China for mass production.
Learned: This was by far my most profitable venture. I learned Manufacturing, Amazon FBA, Product development.
Outcome: Sold over 1 Million in Revenue
